Indoor Air Quality is the air quality within and around buildings and other structures. It is closely related to the health and comfort, something that is very intrinsic to Paharpur Business Centre’s approach since its inception. We follow the 3R’s approach, "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle". Along with this, we pay a lot of emphasis to care for environment.
At PBC, we ensure that we give our customers more than just office space. Our aim is to offer to our clients the healthiest environment we can. This has been made possible because of our USP – Indoor Air Quality system which is a combination of air-purifying plants and mechanical system. We put great emphasis on Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) which we monitor on an everyday basis.
At PBC, indoor air conforms to ASHRAE & WHO standards:
This study was carried out by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), MoEF, GOI & Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI), Kolkata. Also, due to Fresh Indoor Environment and the resulting health benefits, PBC has been rated as one of the healthiest office buildings in Delhi NCR by CPCB and CNCI.
Patented technology is used to purify indoor air at the centre. The ambient air is washed, filtered and further purified through selected natural plants. These plants not only add oxygen but also facilitate in getting the pollutants reduced.
We have a separate air purification set up on the roof top, called as the Green House.
According to a study conducted by Central Pollution Control Board, compared to other buildings in the city, the incidences of eye irritation gets reduced by 52%, respiratory symptoms less by 34%, headaches by 24%, lung impairment by 12%, and asthma by 9% at Paharpur Business Centre.
Working at PBC significantly improves your productivity by offering you a green and healthy environment.
Good defined indoor air quality has an Impact on Brain’s Functionality:
A study in March 2016 (by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s Center for Health and the Global Environment, SUNY Upstate Medical University, and Syracuse University) has looked at people’s experiences in “green” vs. “non-green” buildings in a double-blind study. It has revealed that “Cognitive performance scores for the participants who worked in the green+ environments were on average double than those of participants who worked in conventional environment; scores for those working in green environments were 61 percent higher.”
Another study published in October 2015, by Environmental Health Perspectives Journal says that: Poor Indoor Environmental Quality is linked to Workers' Low Cognitive Function. It explains that when lowered CO2 levels were coupled with lower pollutants in buildings, cognitive scores were 101 % higher than in conventional buildings.
The indoor air at PBC is as fresh as one would get in the mountains like Gulmarg, Kashmir or Davos, Switzerland.
Our own study on Indoor Air Quality states that if one works in this building for 8-10 hours a day for over a month, he or she is likely to experience the following:
In order to maintain the indoor air quality, we make use of the green guard certified housekeeping chemicals, zero VOC carpets, zero VOC varnish and lead free paint. We monitor IAQ indoors and publish it on our website and more. Additionally, we take care of various other elements for a hassle-free working experience such as maintaining proper acoustic and light levels, offering customized ergonomic workstations, organizing weekly BP and BOL check up, maintaining thermal comfort and offering healthy meals with no trans-fats at our in house restaurant – Café Einstein.
For over two decades now, we have been implementing IAQ system to offer clients a perfect work place that supports the growth of an individual and the organization.
